Welcome. This is the website of o.b.s. Bijlmerhorst, the primary school located at the borders of Diemen and Amsterdam Zuidoost. Though first impressions may seem otherwise, we are actually a relatively small school inside a large, multifunctional building where you will also find a pre- school facility and two daycare centers. O.b.s. Bijlmerhorst offers 7 regular groups, usually smaller than 20 children, and 2 special Nieuwkomers groups, for children that have just arrived in The Netherlands and are not yet familiar with the Dutch language. We offer modern, high quality education with state of the art technology and the newest books for main subjects, along with dance, arts and our own childrens symphonic orchestra. Naturally, our main objective will be to teach your child (and you?) the Dutch language as soon as possible. This will always be in the best interest of your child’s future. Still, when you visit our school, you will find that all teammembers will gladly start off in English, and some of them even in Spanish if you like. O.B.S. Bijlmerhorst can be easily reached by car (A10/Gooiseweg/Daalwijkdreef), by bike and by public transport (Diemen Zuid).
